I am sure I'm not the only one who noticed the huge variation in prices at Arundel shops over Christmas but the one item which drew startlingly different prices depending on the shop you visited was mistletoe.

On one day in the run-up to festivities you could buy bunches of it (in varying quanitities and qualities) from at least five shops.

For those of you who missed it, Arun Fruiterers and Florist in Tarrant Street had the best quality and quantity (biggest bunches) for the cheapest price -- £2.

Compare that to one shopkeeper selling weedy little bunches for £5 a short walk away!

Anyway, you might not want to buy the famous plant now Christmas is over -- though New year's Eve is as good a time as any to have an excuse to kiss under the mistletoe -- but thought it was worth mentioning as Arun Fruiterers and Florist is bound to beat its competitors most of the year on price and is always worth a look before you fork out more than twice the price elsewhere.
