A great pub
We enjoy regularly losing the Sunday night quiz in this pub. The beer is good, and although a little bit expensive, it's location and atmosphere make it worth it. I have had family stay in the accommodation at this pub too and say it was fairly reasonable with a good breakfast. There is regular live jazz at this pub too. If they would just update the toilets, it would be a perfect local!

A fantastically cosy pub
St Marys Gate Inn in London Road is a fantastically cosy pub with all the traditional trimmings, such as a roaring open fire. The hospitality on offer is superb, and the Inn's proximity to both the Cathedral and the Castle mean this makes a great stop off for lunch and a pint in-between sightseeing.
