This looks really posh from the outside. And I've heard really good things about it. But sadly I haven't been able to eat here yet. I'm thinking I might go for my birthday though - which is fast approaching. Hope it isn't too difficult to get a table

What I find with most bar/restaurants is that in reality, if you order just drinks you feel a little uneasy, like you should really get some food with it to justify being there; and if you order food you feel out of place because it's more lively than a nice restaurant due to the people who are there using it as a bar. Not with Butlers though: Butlers gets the balance just right between a bar and a restaurant - the place has a lively buzz mixed with a mellow, sophisticated charm. The owners make you feel so welcome, as do the rest of the staff (all well presented and professional), and they show you to your table. The food comes in healthy portions, great if you have a bit appetite, and even better because it's so good that a little portion just wouldn't do! Lovely fishcakes, nice steaks, everything I've tried here is delicious. The prices aren't rock bottom, but then they couldn't possibly be given the quality of the food and service, and the state of the venue; but they are certainly reasonable given all this. Highly recommended.
